How to gather? Acting in a Center in a City in the Heart of the Island of Eurasia

Under challenging circumstances, the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art opts for a radical format and changes its structure: the biennale will be condensed into ten days. Artistic, discursive and reflective moments will shape the space. Located in the Pavilion No.1 of VDNKh, it is here that the Moscow Biennale will evolve, as a think tank in real time.

Keynote - Pascal Gielen

29 SEPTEMBER
19:00 - 20:30hrs

Dealing with cities as starting points and nodes of an international civic space, Pascal Gielen will explore the capacities to perform a common city on the crossroads of art, politics and public life—driven by a search for a new international civic sense. “How is public space made in a continuous activation?” and “What is the relation between urban politics, artists and the organization of the city?”— These are the leading questions along which the parameters for new spaces will be discussed.
