How to gather? Acting in a Center in a City in the Heart of the Island of Eurasia

Under challenging circumstances, the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art opts for a radical format and changes its structure: the biennale will be condensed into ten days. Artistic, discursive and reflective moments will shape the space. Located in the Pavilion No.1 of VDNKh, it is here that the Moscow Biennale will evolve, as a think tank in real time.

Biennale: Sept 22 - Oct 1, 2015
Documentary exhibition project: Oct 3 - Oct 11, 2015

Keynote - Ulrike Guérot

24 SEPTEMBER
19:00 - 20:30hrs

Ulrike Guérot’s keynote for Moscow Biennale 2015 will root in her research and publications on the european idea such as the European in Republic and the European Democracy Lab. Founded in 2014 together with Victoria Kusch, who will also be present in Moscow, the lab advocates for civic engagement for a res public europaea, a transnational concept of Europe that could re-think political and economical entities and their connections. With thinking the question “What are the conditions of the european idea?”, Ulrike Guérot will touch upon the timeliness of concepts such as the nation state, its definitions and international relations.
