Pas de deux, 2015
A constant dance performance in the format of a daily ballet rehearsal is one of Leon Kahane’s contributions to the ten-day program of the Moscow Biennial. Assuming a dichotomy of high culture and liberal arts, the performance aims to combine both in order to debug their formal and political differences or similarities. His recent interest in the performative potential of existing material and cultural goods took the artist a step further as to his own participation in the performance where he will be taught a pas de deux by a professional Russian ballet dancer.
