Moscow based photographer Elena Kholina studied at the Institute of Contemporary Art. She creates books and zines where she combines her intimate memories with the material from archives which allows her to remix and change the meaning of photographs, as well as to create new narratives. Her book Did we ever meet? won the Rock your dummy! contest in Paris in 2013 and has been since exhibited around Russia and Europe.
VDNKh’s Central Pavilion is a place of great power whose function is at present undefined, inarticulate. The building seems to be in a coma - just as the VDNKh’s function as an entertainment park creates a certain kind of coma. Elena Kholkina will visualise dreams, visions and hallucinations from past, present and future and project them on the outside walls of the pavilion at night time.
