Dr. Ulrike Guérot is a political scientist. She is the founder and director of The European Democracy Lab and teaches at the European School of Governance and at Europa Universität Viadrina. Through former positions at the European Council on Foreign Relations, at Open Society Initiative for Europe and German Marshall Fund she was involved in the European Think Tank Community. Ulrike Guérot frequently comments and writes about european democracy and global Europe.

Ulrike Guérot’s keynote and workshop for Moscow Biennale 2015 will derive from her research and publications on the european idea such as the European in Republic and the European Democracy Lab. Founded in 2014 together with Victoria Kusch, who will also be present in Moscow, the lab advocates for civic engagement for a res public europaea, a transnational concept of Europe that could re-think political and economical entities and their relations.
